I know that you probably have this same problem every year. What do I want to be for Halloween this time? I want a costume that is truly unique and different from any of the others that will be at the parties I will be going to. Costumes at the store are all the same, boring. Well as your sitting there thinking, here’s a few ideas I’ve had for my costume this year. I doubt that I’ll use all of them this year, but will at some point in time. I offer them strictly for inspiration purposes.
* Futurama – I know that there are some costumes out there from this show, but I plan on making a truly unique costume of my favorite character. Bender the Robot. I plan to us some extra large soil pipes for the arms and legs. The body I’m going to make using a large cardboard barrel. I’m going to cut a door in it that will open so I can accommodate beer just as Bender does.. Paint the whole thing silver and I’m good to go.
*Aqua Teen Hunger Force – I’m going to get some large pieces of cardboard and make ATHF costumes for my entire family. We definitely are like them in every way. My wife is always trying shifty schemes just like Shake. I’m smart and good with computers like FryLok. My son is just like Meatwad listening to a jambox and dancing all the time. The costumes for Shake and FryLok can be cut easily from the cardboard and painted. I’m still not sure how to do Meatwad yet.
* Pink Floyd Black Shirt Squad – These guys were in the movie Pink Floyd – The Wall. All you need to make this is a black turtleneck shirt and the Pink Floyd crossed hammers patch that you can get at Hot Topics. Sew the patch on the left sleeve and you’re ready to go.
*Star Trek – You can make a uniform like the original Star Trek TV series for very cheap. You take either a blue, gold, or red long sleeve shirt and black joggers.
Use a gold fabric pen to draw the Starfleet emblem on the upper left part of the
chest and your uniform is done. If you decide to be command rank, use the pen to draw three lines around the cuffs of the shirt. If you don’t have boots use black socks and shoes to complete the ensemble.
These are some cheap and easy ideas to make a costume that is unlike anyone else’s. Hope my ideas were helpful to you.
